Fate War rune builds guide
What problem does this page solve?Players use random or PvE runes in PvP, wasting their unit's potential.
Short summary - 5 second decisionDetailed analysis of best runes for Berserker (infantry) and Cavalry units, focusing on survivability and damage optimization.
Who is this for?Mid-to-late game players.
When you transition into the mid-to-late game phase in Fate War, the most critical factor in determining who dominates the battlefield is your rune setup. Most players waste their units’ true potential by placing runes randomly or heading into PvP with PvE-focused sets. In this guide, we analyze the best Berserker and Cavalry rune builds to help you crush your opponents in open-field battles.
The primary goal of the Berserker class on the battlefield is to survive for long periods, hold the frontline, and soak up damage. We need to turn them into ultimate “damage sponges.”
The shield slot should focus entirely on survivability. Look for these runes in order of priority:
In the final slots, you must include Berserker Damage Reduction and General Damage Reduction runes.
The aim for these pieces is to expand your health pool and mitigate damage from counter-classes. Use Berserker HP, General HP, Damage Reduction, and especially Counter-Class Damage Reduction runes.
For open-field battles, you can opt for 1-2 Attack or Defense runes in the necklace. However, instead of stacking health here, use the Troop Limit Increase rune, which makes an incredible difference on the battlefield. The higher the troop count, the more your damage and durability increase. Additionally, a Rage Generation rune is essential so that your commander’s skill activates before the enemy can retreat.
If you are only fighting in the open field, garrison defense stats are useless. You only need two critical runes for the chalice: Counter-Class Damage Reduction and Healing.
Cavalry are the assassins of the battlefield. When playing Cavalry, your goal is to dive into enemy lines quickly, melt weak targets (especially archers) instantly, and escape without taking heavy damage.
The cavalry shield must keep your unit alive until it reaches its target. Cavalry Defense, General Defense, Cavalry Damage Reduction, and General Damage Reduction are the best choices. The Counter-Class Damage Reduction rune is pure gold here for those moments when you dive into infantry, which deals bonus damage against cavalry.
For Cavalry, speed is everything; without it, the class loses its purpose. Use Cavalry HP, General HP, and most importantly, Movement Speed (Cavalry or General) runes. Fill the remaining slots with damage reduction runes.
The necklace is where you maximize your damage. The ideal setup is 2x Cavalry Attack + 1x General Defense or a direct Troop Limit Increase rune. You should also use a rune that increases Rage Generation percentage here so your commander’s Area of Effect (AoE) skill triggers before the enemy can flee.
Just like with the Berserker class, if you aren’t defending a garrison, the only things you need in the field are Counter-Class Damage Reduction and Healing runes. Other chalice runes do not affect cavalry speed or damage in the open field.
By utilizing these builds, instead of being a player who melts away instantly, you can become a commander who tops the damage charts and brings victory to your allies. Don’t forget to upgrade your runes correctly and always switch back to your PvP rune set after PvE events like the Jotun Invasion!
