What problem does this page solve?

Players fail to reach high damage rankings in PvE events because they use PvP builds.

Short summary - 5 second decision

Explains how to optimize damage against event bosses, focusing on specific runes, unit weaknesses, and commander choices.

Who is this for?

All players looking to maximize PvE rewards.

Competition in Fate War isn’t limited to PvP; ranking on the leaderboards in PvE events is one of the most guaranteed ways to grow your account quickly. Events like the Jotun Invasion serve as a massive “DPS (Damage Per Second) test,” showcasing the true strength of your alliance or server.

Most players enter boss events with their standard war lineups, essentially throwing away millions of potential damage points. I’ve compiled the secret tactics that will push your damage to the peak against Jotun and other event bosses:

1. The Fundamental Rule: Forget Survival, Just Strike!

The most important characteristic of the Jotun Invasion is that the boss deals zero damage to you. He simply stands there, and your task is to pour out the highest possible damage within the given time. Therefore, HP, Defense, or Damage Reduction runes used in PvP have no meaning here. Your entire focus must be on pure offensive power.

2. Cracking the Secret: “Black-forged” Runes

Here is the big secret that 90% of players miss, causing their damage to remain low: Jotun is classified by the game as a Black-forged enemy.

What should you do? Never smelt or dismantle runes with the “Increases damage against Black-forged enemies” attribute.

  • Special PvE Set: Create a dedicated rune set specifically for these events. When you unequip your PvP runes and put on this set before the fight, you will see a massive leap in your damage.
  • Buffs: Don’t forget to activate your Attack and Crit buffs.

3. Follow the Boss’s Weakness Rotation

Jotun’s attributes are not fixed; they change daily. One day he might be weak against Berserkers, while the next day he could be vulnerable to Archers or Cavalry.

  • Tactic: Instead of just sending your strongest unit, shape your army according to the unit type the boss is weak against that day. Using the correct unit type significantly increases your damage multiplier.

4. Multiply Damage with Debuff Commanders

Instead of only using Nuker (pure damage) commanders, deploy Debuffer commanders who break the boss’s resistance.

  • Key Names: Carl and Sarah are perfect for these events. While Carl directly weakens the boss’s HP and defense, Sarah provides critical control and weakening effects through her skills. These commanders allow every other unit in your army to reach much higher damage numbers.

5. Perform A/B Testing with the “Records” Tab

If you think your damage is increasing or decreasing randomly, you’re mistaken. The Records tab in the event menu is your best friend.

  • How to use it: Analyze your damage day by day to see exactly how much it changed after swapping a rune or a commander. Keep testing until you find the winning combination.

Why is this so important?

In Jotun Invasion, you don’t just earn daily ranking rewards. The real treasure lies in the Achievements tab. When you cross certain damage thresholds in Frost, Fire, Stone, and Chaotic illusions, you earn massive amounts of Gems, Universal Speed-ups, Legendary Hero Sculptures (Heads), and even Supreme Skins.
